the Wolf and the bear Network...to share with you....

Welcome to the Wolf and the bear Network!

O'siyo my family! This is a Gathering for the Body, Mind & Spirit...sharing multi-Cultural arts, music, storytelling and friendship. Bringing the walls down... to find the common ground of the People! Come and sit with us and join in the discussions and fellowship as we explore new thoughts, music and teachings ...

Our family is continually expanding with new music,  artists, teachers, and thoughts from all walks of the Native American  Community.  We are an ever growing group of messengers and teachers that are all reaching out and sharing the knowledge and talents that they walk with.  Whether it is in word, deed or song...there are so many we are reaching.  Help us on that journey, join us on this path... as we share the culture and teachings meant to be handed down for generations to come.

Share in the Music, the Radio Shows and all the places we will visit...

Blessings,

~ bear Medicinewalker

Jana Mashonee On the Wolf and the bear "Fireside" March 29, 2012

Join the Wolf and the bear as they chat with the Multi-talented Ms. Jana Mashonee!

Among the many things I have learned about this young Woman, is that she is all that and a bag of chips as my Grandfather would say!  Loaded with Beauty, a set of Pipes that just don't quit, a Respect for the People and traditional ways, a love of the Children and a Spirit that if we could bottle and sell it, would fill the world with light, she will touch your heart and imprint your soul.

Her Voice pays tribute to the Ancestors and the musicians that have walked before her...and with great Awe...I am humbled to have her take time from her busy schedule to sit with the Wolf and the bear family...so come and join with us as we welcome Jana to the fire Thursday Night March 29, 2012.

Fireside with Kelly Montijo Fink

Kelly Montijo (pronounced Mont –ee –ho) Fink, singer /“song catcher” (Mexican, Apache, & Spanish) was born in California but now resides in the Midwest.  She has been singing for as long as she can remember & has performed everything from musical theater, pop, Italian opera, and madrigal arrangements, to mariachi music & Native drum songs.
Kelly considers herself a “song catcher” rather than a song writer.  She rarely sits down to write a song, but rather observes, hears, and sees truth & then allows the words and melodies flow from there.  Many of her songs are birthed from prayer, dreams, visions, and personal revelations.

In 2010 Kelly released her second CD titled “Songs of War and Victory – overcoming the battles we face” where she tackles such themes as identity, complacency, restoration, healing, & overcoming adverse circumstance.  She collaborated with other like-minded artists on this project such as Jan Michael Looking Wolf, Sean Murphy (formerly of “Fighter”), Pete Raine (The 100’s), Doug Johnson (formerly of “Leven” & “Tragedy Verses”), the Zach & Sarah band, as well as others, demonstrating that we can not win life’s battles alone.

In 2011, Kelly (along with 20 other native ladies) were awarded the Native American Music Award for “Best Compilation CD” for their work on “The Color of Hope”, an album Kelly c0-produced and contributed to musically.

Kelly’s heart is to see & help people walk in freedom in every aspect of their lives.
